Shahi panwadi kalakand! 


Situatory warning – Pls make this in little quantity only for immediate use as it is very yummy and yummy and yummy! 

Every year it is a ritual for me to bring few packs of gulkand from India to be used in icecreams, lassi, milk shakes and meethey puas.

This time I tried this new recipe for making kalakand in richer flavor. It turned out very awesome and amazing. 

Ingredients – 

1 Tin sweetened condensed milk approx 2 cups 

2 Tbsp unsalted butter

2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice(yellow lemon not green one)

1 Tsp freshly grounded green cardamom seeds

1 Tbsp green saunf (fennel seeds) 

1/4 Cup freshly ground/powdered unsalted pistachios

1/4 Cup freshly ground almond powder

1/4 Cup gulkand

4 Tbsp broken pistachios or almonds for garnishing

Method – 

1- In a microwave bowl mix very well condensed milk, butter and lemon juice.

2- Put in oven for 3 minutes.

3- Take out and whisk well.

4- Microwave it for 2 minutes again.

5- Take out and whisk well.

6- Mix in green saunf, almond powder, pistachio powder and gulkand.

7- Microwave for 2 minutes again.

8- Take out whisk well, pour in pre greased tray and spread well broken almonds or pistachios over it and press lightly.

9- Place in the lowest rack of fridge for 3-4 hours than slice the pcs.
